Weeks ago, my partner i decided we needed help to make some serious changes within our diets. After giving up smoking over ten in the past we both had packed on the pounds. Sixty pounds each to be exact. Yikes! The final nail in our food coffin was placed after a visit to my qualified medical practitioner. I was on the verge of needing blood pressure medication and my cholesterol was high. But a lot more diets out there and then a tight budget to boot, we had no idea where to start on our quest for a healthier lifestyle.

My husband can be a technology nut and one of his favourite magazines is Wired, a monthly mag that reports on new technology. And it was in this magazine that he was introduced to the wild and wacky world of Tim Ferris. (Who hold thought a techno-nerd magazine would maintain secret to weight-loss in it?)

Tim Ferris is a nice polarizing personality. You either think he has some awesome ideas or that he's totally crazy. His latest book The 4 Hour Body, the industry follow up to his best seller The 4 Hour Work Week has some pretty radical ideas about along with. He has a simple approach that included drinking red wine and eating steak so my husband was in! And this is where our bean love affair and our weight loss began.
